Introduction

My name is Debbie Truman. I am currently studying at Australian Catholic University. I am in my Final Year of a BT/BA Secondary, with a major in Technology. My specialties are Food Technology and Textiles.
My desire is to teach Technology to high school students and give them a love for what will be an intricate part of their lives when they leave school. I enjoy seeing the students learn new skills for the first time and gain the confidence they need to continue learning and growing in those areas.
I am married and have 4 teenage children. I would not have been able to pursue this dream with out their love and support. Their willingness to help in so many areas is how I have been able to make it this far.
Being a mature age student has had many different challenges but with support I have enjoyed the learning experience.
Balancing life with University, Work and Family commitments has taught new time management skills. Prioritizing is another skill which I am still working on.
